Dr. Diane Monahan is an assistant professor of Communication Management and chair of the Department of Communication & Marketing in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business.
She joined the Saint Leo University faculty in Fall of 2010. She grew up in the Orlando (Longwood/Altamonte Springs) area and is happy to be back in Florida.

She holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Florida State University in Psychology with a minor in Communication, a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Central Florida, and a Doctorate in Communication Sciences with cognate areas of Social Psychology and Quantitative Methods from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining the faculty at Saint Leo University, Dr. Monahan taught at Keene State College in New Hampshire and Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. At Belmont University, she served as Program Director of the Organizational and Corporate Communication program and as the Coordinator of Internships.
Her professional and research interests include: (1) interpersonal processes within organizations; (2) organizational systems that impact employees; and (3) instructional communication.
Dr. Monahan’s work has been recognized both inside and outside the classroom. She has been honored for her teaching. Her research has won regional and international awards.
Dr. Monahan serves as a consultant for non-profit and for-profit organizations improving communication with stakeholders, conducting communication audits, improving conflict culture, and identifying risk factors in workplace aggression. She has also worked with international adoption agencies.
