Emil Koren C.M.A., C.P.A.

Mr. Emil Koren is an instructor of Accounting in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business at Saint Leo University.

He is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the states of Colorado and Florida and a Certified Management Accountant(CMA). Mr. Koren is a professional member of the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants.

Mr. Koren holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. He is completing a Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Prior to joining Saint Leo, he was a member of faculty and chair of the business department at the American University of Bulgaria. He brings to his current position many years of industry and academic experience.

His professional and research interests include Sarbanes-Oxley and how it has changed the accounting profession and how the International Accounting Standards Board will change U.S. accounting.
