Dr. Hakan Kislal is a full-time, tenured Associate Professor of Management in the School of Business at Saint Leo University.
He speaks Turkish and many Turkic dialects, such as Azerbaijani, Turkmeni, Kazakhstani and Ozbek. He is fluent in Japanese. Dr. Kislal is married, with one daughter. He and his family reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

A native of Turkey, Dr. Kislal has been working in academia for more than 25 years. He has been actively involved in quality teaching and research on three different continents and in eight different educational institutions.
He began his teaching career in 1982 at Gazi University in Ankara, working as a Research Assistant, Lecturer, and Instructor. In 1987, he came to the United States as a graduate student assistant at the State University of New York, working as an Adjunct Faculty and Research Associate while completing his second Master’s Degree in Management. He then resumed his doctoral studies at the prestigious Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. He has worked as a consultant and taught in such institutions as Keio University and Temple University’s Tokyo campus.
Dr. Kislal joined the Saint Leo faculty in 2000, and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
