Dr. Ioannis "John" Pantzalis is an associate professor of International Business and Marketing in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business. He joined the university faculty in Fall 1998 and currently teaches both undergraduates and MBA students in the fields of marketing, strategy, international business, and quantitative methods in decision-making.
Dr. Pantzalis was born in Greece. He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Arizona.
Prior to joining the university, he worked in Europe, taught at the Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade in China, and worked for the American Medical International Company as a marketing manager for hospitals.
His professional and research interests include brand management, symbolic consumption, marketing and power, exchange situations in complex systems, and self-designed accelerated methods in learning new skills.
