Dr. Michael Sciarini is an Associate Professor of Business in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business at Saint Leo University.
Dr. Sciarini holds a Masters in Education with a concentration in Human Resources from Troy University, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a cognate in Academic Research from Regent University.
Dr. Sciarini is a well-rounded member of the university community, having previously held such positions as Academic Advisor, Assistant Director, and Regional Administrative Coordinator.
Prior to joining Saint Leo, he was an active duty member of the United States Navy, where he retired as the Senior Instructor and Command Master Chief of a multi-service training command.
His professional and research interests include all aspects of student motivation, as well as teaching pedagogies for online and video delivery formats.
Because of his background, he’s been identified by Saint Leo University as an expert in military education matters. He has been interviewed by, and cited in, the Chronicle of Higher Education regarding the military’s evaluation of online education programs.
Dr. Sciarini has received special recognition, including named “Academic Advisor of the Year” for the SLU Virginia centers and a Professional Achievement Award from the Saint Leo Alumni Association.
