Dr. Dean is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business at Saint Leo University.

Prior to joining the Saint Leo faculty, he taught at Albany State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University as an assistant professor of Accounting. He also has more than 15 years of corporate accounting and finance experience.
His professional and research interests include Student Learning, Internationalization of Accounting Standards, and Derivatives.
Dr. Dean has twice been honored as Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Educators. His paper entitled, “Are Academic Institutions Meeting the Needs for Derivatives Accountants?”, co-authored with Dr. Braswell and Ms. Cope, won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference of the Business Economics Institute.
