Dr. Patrick Ryan Murphy is an assistant professor of Economics in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business. He joined the university's full-time faculty in the Fall of 2010.
Undergraduate:
Principles of Macroeconomics
Graduate:
Managerial Economics
He earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Florida State University.
Prior to coming to Saint Leo, he taught at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
At St. Lawrence, he taught Quantitative Methods, Strategic Decision Making, and Econometrics; at FSU, he taught Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Intermediate Microeconomic Theory.
His professional and research interests include Economics of Education, Public Economics, Applied Economics, Urban/Regional Economics, and Population Economics. His teaching interests also include Game Theory and Econometrics.
Dr. Murphy’s current research is focused on the impact of gifted education programs on student achievement.
