B.S., M.S., Ph.D., Iowa State University
My research area is in abstract and linear algebra utilizing computer algorithms and group representation theory techniques. In the recent years I have also become more interested in conducting research related to teaching. I have published three papers in the related area and have also given over twenty presentations since my arrival at Saint Leo University.
I am a member of a number of mathematical and scientific societies and have been serving as the chair of the mathematics and computer section of the Florida Academy of Sciences since 2001. Even though I am not affiliated with any particular organization outside the scientific community, I have remained a very active member of the Saint Leo community. In the recent years I have served on a number of Saint Leo University committees and have been engaged in many community service activities.
One of my hobbies in my younger days was playing chess. In fact, I was the highest ranked player in Iowa for over ten years and earned the title of National Master in both correspondence and tournament play. Unfortunately, my chess career was short lived as I decided to pursue other interests in my life. I love literature and try to read 10-20 pages a day and I also follow most of the sports.
