Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society in business, management and administration, was established to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to mankind.
Sigma Beta Delta espouses three key principles: wisdom, honor, and meaningful aspirations. Members are challenged to pursue wisdom, to accept honor as a constant companion, and to aspire to goals that will chart them on the path of wisdom and honor throughout their lives.
Lifetime membership in the society is the highest international recognition a business student can receive at a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter. Saint Leo University was one of the original founding charters in early 1994. Today, the society includes 300 chapters throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Saint Leo Chapter News!
Consistent with the core value of excellence, Saint Leo's Sigma Beta Delta chapter has adopted a high standard for invitation to the society. The selection process considers both academic accomplishment and values exhibited by the student that are consistent with those of the university and the society's encouragement of service to mankind.
At the start of Spring Term in each academic year, upperclassmen and graduate business students are automatically considered by faculty for membership. Students determined to meet chapter eligibility for membership are sent the society invitation notice through their official SLU student email account.
Induction to the honor society is held once each academic year, with the chapter's ritual ceremony conducted at the main campus in late spring.
