Traditional Program
The Master of Science in Critical Incident Management was developed to be a two-year program of study. In this manner a student could take a maximum of one online class per 8 week term. This format of study is very manageable even with a hectic lifestyle. However, a student may find that one class every other term is a better fit.

Accelerated Program
The accelerated program is designed so a student could complete the Master of Science in Critical Incident Management in less than the two-year Traditional Program. This is not recommended and you must have special permission each term to take more courses then permitted. In order to receive approval for the accelerated program, a letter petitioning your request must be made to Dr. Robert J. Diemer, Director of Graduate Studies in Criminal Justice. The letter must include your ability to dedicate the amount of time and effort needed for successful completion by taking more than the maximum classes.

The reason for this letter is because the class work is very intense and in order to continue in the program, you must maintain a 3.0 grade point average. You must make this request each term that you wish to exceed the over the maximum allowable course load. It is recommended that you review all the sample syllabi before choosing courses each term.
