Saint Leo University seeks to equip Saint Leo University Parents to serve as volunteer representatives of, and advocates for, Saint Leo in their local communities – congregations, schools, businesses, and local communities. There are many ways that you can be an advocate for Saint Leo University and stay connected with your child’s on campus experience:
Admissions –
- Encourage youth in your community, school or church who are looking at colleges to consider Saint Leo University.
- Encourage youth in your community, school or church to visit Saint Leo.
- Post and distribute admissions literature in appropriate places – youth centers, college information centers, career centers, church bulletin boards, etc.
- Represent Saint Leo University at a college fair.
- Make “welcome” phone calls to the families of admitted students.
- Host a regional “send-off” for incoming freshmen.
Campus Life –
- Contact the office of University Ministry with special intentions to include in Sunday Mass.
- Be familiar with Saint Leo University’s Core Values – excellence, community, respect, personal development, responsible stewardship, integrity – and help instill them in your child.
- Visit campus and your student during Fall Family weekend.
- Stay current with university events: University Calendar
Career Planning –
- Provide summer internships for students that live in your area.
- Make a relevant special presentation – in your area of expertise – to a class.
- Provide career advice and job opportunities to graduating students.
Advancement –
- Make www.saintleo.edu your homepage on your computers so you can stay informed with our regular news updates on the main page.
- Read the Parents E-Newsletter that is emailed 6 times per year.
- Read the University’s Magazine, “Spirit”, highlighting examples of integrity and excellence within our institution.
- Share Saint Leo news with your friends and peers.
- Tell a different person about Saint Leo University every day.
- Participate in a regional gathering of alumni and parents.
- Consider making a gift to Saint Leo University.
