Prospective Saint Leo University undergraduates should begin the financial aid application process after January 1. The Office of Student Financial Services begins sending award letters after March 15.
Students who pay their admission deposit will be able to accept their financial aid award through
MySaintleo.edu

1. Complete the FAFSA
The
Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available every year after January 1st, should be completed and submitted on-line at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The FAFSA filing deadline for Prospective SLU undergraduates is
March 15.
The SLU Federal School Code to be entered on the FAFSA is
001526.
Estimated income figures can be used initially and replaced with actual income figures after the student’s federal tax returns are completed.
To complete the signature section of the FAFSA application, the student and a parent/guardian provide their Federal PIN Number. Federal PIN numbers can be obtained at
www.pin.ed.gov.
2. Monitor MySaintleo.edu
As a result of SLU receiving and processing the FAFSA, items may appear in the My Documents section of eLION. My Documents are required to be completed before financial aid will be disbursed. When My Documents need to be completed, the office of Student Financial Services will send email notifications until all items are complete. The email notice directs students to review My Documents in
MySaintleo.edu.
My Documents can be documentation requests, problems with the FAFSA that need to be fixed, processes that need to be completed by the student or processes that need to be completed by the parent.
My Documents can appear at any point during the aid processing cycle. My Documents most commonly appear after the FAFSA is filed and after students accept their Financial Aid Award. When an item is listed in My Documents, the item can be clicked on for more detailed information.
Completed items will be updated from My Documents within 2-5 days after students actively respond with the required action or documentation. Unresolved My Documents will prevent the following:
- Disbursement of financial aid
- financial aid awards applying to your account as "pending aid"
- refund processing
3. Accept Award Through MySaintleo.edu
After sending the admission deposit, students are assigned a Saint Leo University email address in order to access eLion through
MySaintleo.edu. Instructions on how to use

Once logged in to
MySaintleo.edu students are able to navigate to the Financial Aid page to accept, reduce, or decline their financial aid award offers.
