Financial Aid will only send financial aid award notices to students who have been accepted for admission into an SLU graduate degree program.

1. Complete the FAFSA
The
Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available every year after January 1st, should be completed and submitted on-line at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. The SLU Federal School Code to be entered on the FAFSA is
001526.
Estimated income figures can be used initially and replaced with actual income figures after the students federal tax returns are completed. Graduate students only need to report their income and spousal income, when applicable.
To complete the signature section of the FAFSA application, students provide their Federal PIN Number. Students can obtain a Federal PIN number at
www.pin.ed.gov.
Graduate students can complete the FAFSA prior to being admitted to the University.
2. Monitor MySaintleo.edu
As a result of SLU receiving and processing the FAFSA, items may appear on the
MySaintleo.edu My Documents. All required documents are to be completed before financial aid processing can continue.
The Financial Aid Office will send notifications via student email until the item is complete. The email notice directs students to review and respond to the My Documents list in eLion.
Important Items can be documentation requests, problems with your FAFSA that need to be fixed, processes that need to be completed by the student or processes that need to be completed by the parent.
Important Items can appear at any point during the aid processing cycle. Items most commonly appear on the Important Items List after the FAFSA is filed and after students accept their Financial Aid Award.
When an item is listed on the My Documents list, the item can be clicked on for more detailed information.
Completed items will be updated from your My Documents list within 2-5 days after you actively respond with the required action or documentation. Unresolved Important Items will prevent the following:
- processing of a financial aid award
- financial aid awards applying to your account as "anticipated aid"
- refund processing
3. Accept Award Through MySaintleo.edu
At SLU, students accept, reduce and decline their financial aid awards online through

4. GRAD PLUS Application Information [Click Here]
Student must exhaust all Stafford Loan eligibility for the academic year before a GRAD PLUS loan may be processed.
