October 23, 2007 — Flu season is just around the corner!  It takes about two weeks for your body to make the antibodies needed to protect against the flu virus.  The best time to receive a flu shot is in October and November, before the flu season begins.  Human Resources has made arrangements with University Community Hospital (UCH) to administer flu shots on university campus on Wednesday, October 24, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  The UCH bus will be located in the new parking area, where the tennis courts used to be.

Faculty and staff members enrolled in the Saint Leo University Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan may sign up to receive a free flu shot by sending an e-mail to: response@saintleo.edu.  Please include your BCBS identification number which can be found on your insurance card.

Anyone who wishes to get a flu shot but is not enrolled in the SLU BCBS plan has the option of paying $25 for the flu shot.
