February 18, 2011 — Saint Leo University’s School of Business is in the midst of its second International Business Conference, which provides students, faculty, and attendees the opportunity to hear current research on a wide range of matters affecting international business. Topics discussed Thursday, the first day of the two-day event, included leadership skills needed in global companies, and levels of unemployment in Iraq and resulting levels of violence and poverty.
The keynote speaker for the conference, futurist David Pearce Snyder (pictured), addressed the gathering on Thursday. He said more widespread global communication and an increasing rate of change, among other factors, will mean that future Master of Business Administration students and graduates will need to cope with higher levels of complexity and risk in the business world.
The conference will conclude Friday. Featured speakers are consultant Larry Cobb, who will speak on “International Business Ethics,” and Jose Valiente, principal for the accounting firm LarsonAllen LLP in Tampa, who will speak on “The Future of Change with Cuba.”
