The Leadership Studies program is designed to meet the continuing education and professional development needs of Florida public and private educators. The program, normally a minimum of 36 semester hours or credits, has a six-course core curriculum and two different six-course concentrations: Educational Leadership and Instructional Leadership.

Most students may be able to complete the degree within two years. Students who choose to accelerate their studies may finish sooner. Those students wishing to accelerate their degree program may do so with the permission of the program director.

The Instructional Leadership for teachers concentration is for those classroom teachers who do not want to seek Education Leadership (Level 1) certification through the Florida Department of Education. The purpose of this concentration is to assist classroom teachers in developing the management and leadership skills necessary for full participation in educational governance at the school, district, and community levels.

Saint Leo University's Education Program has built a solid reputation in the educational community as a quality program that produces tomorrow's leaders in the classroom.

A strong commitment to a set of core values is the cornerstone of Saint Leo Univeristy and its mission to offer a practical, effective model for life and leadership in a challenging world. It is a model based on steadfast moral consciousness that recognizes the dignity, value, and gifts of all people.
