Leadership Studies program is designed to meet the continuing education and professional development needs of Florida public and private educators. The program, normally a minimum of 36 semester hours or credits, has a six-course core curriculum and two six-course concentrations: Educational Leadership and Instructional Leadership.
Most students may be able to complete the degree within two years. Students who choose to accelerate their studies may finish sooner. Those students wishing to accelerate their degree program may do so with the permission of the program director.
Educational Leadership has two options:
The Florida Educational Leadership Program which is a Florida State approved program, and the Non-Florida Educational Leadership Program which is without licensure or certification.
Reflected in these concentrations, along with the core curriculum, are the eight content areas of the Florida Educational Leadership core curriculum. These contact areas are public school curriculum and instruction, organizational management and development, leadership skills, communication skills, technology, education law, and education finance.
