MAT Curriculum

The curriculum as outlined below is designed to prepare individuals to go from the corporate world to the classroom.

While this program is designed to provide individuals with general teacher certification, teacher certification is a state function. Accordingly, all 50 states have unique requirements for licensing teachers. The Saint Leo University Master of Arts in Teaching is designed to meet the requirements for entry-level teachers.

Different states may require certification examinations, subject area exams or other credential requirements in addition to the degree. While reciprocal agreements exist among many states, candidates should contact their state certification office or local school district for information regarding teacher-license requirements.
