Internship in Psychology, PSY 425 (6 - 12 credits)
The Internship in Psychology is an option that allows senior-level students who have taken additional preparatory courses the opportunity for a full-time or part-time supervised internship in the Spring of their senior year. Our students work with individuals and families in mental health, educational, industrial/organizational and medical settings. Often, they are involved in both the treatment and research aspects of these services. Many of these students obtain positions after graduation directly related to their internship experience. Others gain admission to graduate school.
Full Time Internship : 12 Credits
Supervised placement in local facilities for 32 hours per week for 13 weeks, a minimum of 400 hours.
Part Time Internship : 6 Credits or 9 Credits
Supervised placement in local facilities for 16 (6 credits) or 24 (9 credits) hours per week for 13 weeks, a minimum total of 200 (6 credits) or 300 (9 credits) hours.
