Dr. Kevin Kieffer

Dr. Kieffer received his B.S. from Indiana University and his M.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi. His Ph.D. in Counseling Psy- chology is from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He completed both a predoctoral internship and a postdoctoral residency in geropsychology and neuropsychology at the James A Haley V.A. Medi- cal Center in Tampa, Florida and has been a licensed psychologist in the State of Florida since 2002. His research interests include methodology, research, and statistics, substance abuse screening and treatment, and geropsychological and neuropsychological assessment in addition to a more recent focus on the effects of violent media and videogame content on player behavior. Dr. Kieffer's recent scholarly work has been featured in a number of media outlets from newspapers such as the New York, Los Angeles and London Times to TV stations such as CNN, ABC and NBC Nightly News.


Dr. Richard Bryan

Dr. Bryan received his B.A. in Psychology from Northwestern University. Following service in the U.S. Army, Dr. Bryan returned to college to earn his M.S. and Ph. D. in Psychobiology from Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey, with additional training and coursework at The State University of New York at Binghamton. He taught a variety of courses at Rutgers University, Broome Community College, Keuka College and the College of the Holy Cross before coming to Saint Leo in 1981. While at Saint Leo, Dr. Bryan served as Chair of the Department of Social Sciences and, most recently, as Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences from 2005 to 2009. His teaching interests include experimental design and statistics, and physiological and cognitive psychology. His research studies have included both animal subjects and human participants. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his research findings at state, regional, national and international conferences.


Dr. Anthony Carboni

Dr. Carboni has been awarded a visiting assistant professor position for the 2009-10 academic year. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts, a Master’s from Clark University, and a Doctorate from American International College. He comes to us, most recently; from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and American International Collage as faculty and Research Associate. Dr. Carboni brings with him over 30 years of experimental laboratory research in neuropathology of Aging Brain, Alzheimer’s, learning and learning and 20 years of teaching. He will be teaching experimental courses such as Psychology of Learning, Sensation and Perception, Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Comparative Psychology, Child and Adolescent Developmental, and Research Methods here at the University campus and in Ocala. His current research interests are in the neuropathology of developmental learning disabilities and he has a long record of being an active collaborator with his students in his research. He will also be collaborating with Dr. Bryan.

Dr. Christopher Cronin

Dr. Cronin received his B.S. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and his M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Delaware. He completed his internship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida and practices in the area of forensic psychology.

His research interests are in alcohol and drug use among college students and he has edited a textbook on military psychology. His research has been funded by grants from the National Institute of Drug Abuse and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Dr. Patrick Draves

Dr. Draves received his B.A. in psychology from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida with a minor in research methods. Current research interests include organizational citizenship behaviors, personality in the workplace, program evaluation, and the application of performance management toward organizational development.

He is the chair of the Institutional Review Board, Director of Undergraduate Research for the psychology department, and 2009-10 chair of the LINK Board of Directors. He works on a number of collaborative research projects with faculty from other departments and other universities, as well as with Saint Leo students and administrators. He is also a program evaluation and organizational development consultant.

Dr. Leilani Goodmon

Dr. Leilani Goodmon received her undergraduate BA (magna cum laude) in Psychology from Stetson University in 1997. In 2005, she received a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the University of South Florida. She specializes in the study of human memory and teaches Human Behavior Perspective, Cognitive Psychology, and Introduction to Psychology courses at St. Leo. She is a native Floridian who enjoys horseback riding, fishing, and gardening. She joined Saint Leo in the 2007-08 school year.

Dr. Mallue received her B.A. from the University of Florida and an additional B.A. from the University of Central Florida. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Oklahoma State University. She is full time at the center in Virginia and University Senate President.

Dr. Tammy Lowery Zacchilli

Dr. Tammy Lowery Zacchilli received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA in December 2000. She received her Master of Science degree from Augusta State University in Augusta, GA in May 2003. Dr. Zacchilli received her PhD in social psychology with an informal minor in statistics from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX in May 2007. While attending Texas Tech, she was the recipient of a Graduate Student Teaching Award for an Instructor of an Advanced Course. Her teaching interests include social psychology, statistics, research methods, personality psychology, developmental psychology, close relationships, and introductory psychology. Her research interests include romantic relationship conflict as well as social exclusion and cyberbullying. Dr. Zacchilli’s dissertation included the development of a new scale to measure conflict in dating relationships. This scale, the Romantic Partner Conflict Scale, will be published in November 2009. As a graduate student, she worked with several undergraduates on research projects and has conducted empirical research with multiple students at Saint Leo University.
