The Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies (CCJS) was established at
Saint Leo University in 1998 through a formal Memorandum of
Agreement between Saint Leo and the American Jewish Committee—one
of the oldest Jewish advocacy organizations in the United
Open to all, The Center facilitates, coordinates, and integrates
teaching, dialogue, and community outreach in the greater Tampa Bay
area, the American Southeast, and ultimately the entire nation. The
Center affirms the diverse interrelationships and contributions of
the world's great monotheistic faiths, as well as numerous other
religious communities. The Center provides a creative, cooperative,
and flexible environment in which innovative teaching, scholarship,
and dialogue can flourish.
Located in deChantal Hall on the Saint Leo University campus,
CCJS is the only organization of its kind in the Southeast.
Building mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation among
Jews, Catholics, and all people of good will by providing
opportunities for interfaith education and dialogue.
