Janet Franks, reference librarian, holds a B.A. in sociology, criminal justice concentration, from the University of New Mexico; an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida; and an M.B.A., marketing concentration, from Saint Leo University. She advises students at the Cannon Memorial Library reference desk and teaches library instruction classes to business students in the undergraduate, M.B.A., and D.B.A. programs at Saint Leo University.

Teaching & Professional Interests:

Research interests include creating an academic library environment conducive to studying, and facilitating public library assistance to entrepreneurs. She co-authored an article in the New Review of Academic Librarianship titled “Noise Management in 21st Century Libraries: Case Studies of Four U.S. Academic Institutions,” and has recently submitted a manuscript for her next publication on the role of public libraries in economic development.
