Biography:

I have been a classroom teacher in both private schools in Virginia and public schools in Florida for a total of 17 years, and an academic librarian since 2001. I joined the SLU faculty as an assistant professor/academic librarian in September 2002, earned tenure in 2007 and promotion to the rank of associate professor in 2009. I am active professionally at local, state, and national levels: Suncoast Information Specialists; Florida Library Association; Catholic Library Association; American Library Association; Association of College and Research Libraries. As Online Services Librarian, I provide library support to the students, staff, and faculty of the Center for Online Services (COL). I work to promote cross-discipline/cross-program collaboration between the library and COL, and to support student success, especially among members of our adult and non-traditional online learning communities.

Teaching & Professional Interests:

My research interests focus on embedded librarianship, digital archives, open-access academic publishing, and delivery of digital library services and instruction, using both synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods. I make heavy use of instructional technologies in my work, publishing and presenting on related issues, such as the use of web-conferencing programs, libguides, and in-house learning objects for teaching and learning online.
