Dr. Bell is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry.  He has been a member of the Saint Leo Community since 2010.  He is originally from Connecticut, and is married (25th anniversary September 2017) with 3 boys.  He earned a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Wake Forest University and a BA in Chemistry from Dartmouth College.  Prior to joining the faculty at University Campus, Dr. Bell was an Assistant Professor at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland.

Teaching & Professional Interests:

Dr. Bell is dedicated to teaching.  In addition to teaching inside the classroom, he uses a variety of techniques outside the classroom to keep the educational momentum going.  Some of these techniques include hallway study questions where student use a whiteboard in the hallway to solve problems varying from topics learned in class that day to MCAT style questions for student considering a health profession.  He has also initiated a library outside his office where students can borrow older editions of textbooks, study guides, and even solution manuals for a semester to learn extra problem solving tips and practice additional problems.  Dr. Bell is also a judge for the High School State Science and Engineering Fair.
