Mubarak Banisakher is an associate professor of Computer Science at Saint Leo University, Florida. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida. He has more than ten years of teaching experience in higher education. He has several years of experience in the telecommunication industry as an engineer. He also worked for the United Nations Peacekeeping (UNMOT).  

He has been a principal investigator and Co-Principal Investigator in different research grants submitted to NSF, and AAC&U. in his previous appointment and with a collaborations with other colleague he was able to implement several training and software development grants resulted in more than $ 100,000.

His research interest is on Data mining, Data Fusion technology, Big Data, Computer networks Cloud computing, and Data Fusion in Disaster Management

Teaching & Professional Interests:

  • Currently teaching Cloud Computing Security COM-514 and GBA 327 Business Information Systems and Analytics. He has taught wide spectrum of topics from the fields of computer science, computer information systems and engineering. Some of the courses that he taught are, Algorithms and Data Structures, Software engineering, Database Systems, UNIX, Operating Systems, Big Data and Analytics, Cloud Computing, Info Systems in Organizations, Network Security & Firewalls, wireless Networks, Computer Architecture, Digital circuit.
  • Developed three concentrations (Network Admin (NTA), Web Admin (WDA), and Database Admin (DTA) with 17 new courses.
  • Prepared a self-study report to be submitted to ABET for the CIS degree.
