Department: Human Services
Dr. Boone-Thornton began her career at Saint Leo
University as an adjunct professor in the Human Services department
teaching HUS-340, HUS-311, and HUS-312. Dr. Boone-Thornton has
worked with children and families in the field of mental health for
over 20 years. As the Director of Children Services at a mental
health center in Alabama, she coordinated and developed therapeutic
treatment programs for children in three counties. Dr.
Boone-Thornton worked as the Program Manager and Clinical
Supervisor for residential treatment facilities and a community
home-based program in Virginia. She was employed with the Hampton
Newport News Community Services Board in the Therapeutic Day
Treatment program with Hampton City Schools.
