Dr. Rivera-Singletary has worked in K-12 public school systems for 17 years. Her positions include teacher (Spanish I & II, high school), resource teacher (migrant program), school-based administrator (Pasco High School), and district administrator (Hillsborough County Title I Migrant). Recently, Dr. Rivera-Singletary held a federal funded position with Florida and the Islands Comprehensive Center (FLICC) @ ETS providing education services to the Puerto Rico department of education implementing processes and policies in areas of school improvement, teacher and leader evaluation, professional learning communities, coordinating and implementing Title III part A, Second Language Acquisition, and transitioning and implementing the newly reauthorized NCLB now known as the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Teaching & Professional Interests:
Dr. Rivera-Singletary’s research interest are in studying the professional collaborative processes of leaders for federal programs that can lead to successful academic achievement of special populations such as special education, migrant, and second language learners.  Other topics of interest include cultural sensitivity and social justice topics as they relate to educational policy and school structures and processes.  Examining policy and law related to educational processes and strategic planning is also another interest of Dr. Rivera-Singletary.
