Biography:
Dr. Wright is a Professor of Education in the School of Education and Social Services. She has been with Saint Leo University since 2002. Currently, Dr. Wright teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level. Prior to coming to Saint Leo University, Dr. Wright taught at the University of South Florida in the Childhood Education Department from 1998-2002. In addition, Dr. Wright also worked in the Florida Center for Instructional Technology (FCIT) at USF as a Subject Matter Expert in the design and creation of CD-ROMs and websites to assist teachers with the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).  Previously, Dr. Wright taught at the K-6 level as an elementary school teacher for 13 years.

Teaching & Professional Interests:
Dr. Wright’s area of focus are reading comprehension and vocabulary development, as well as early literacy skills, and reading assessment. She has also been involved in many campus and Center workshops and trainings on Reading Across the Curriculum. These trainings have focused on ways instructors can assist students in actively reading and comprehending their course textbooks.
