The Celebration of Academic Excellence, formerly Academic
Excellence Day, will be held on University Campus on Thursday,
April 13, 2017, from 1:00-3:50pm with an awards ceremony at 4:00pm.
Classes will have a shortened schedule to allow all to participate
in the event starting at 1:00pm.
This important day is an opportunity to gather as a community
and showcase the academic achievements of our University College
Students must have the sponsorship of a Faculty Mentor who has
overseen the student(s)’ work, who attests to its readiness for the
event, and who will complete and submit a new electronic submission
form (below) on their behalf.
Students may present in one of two categories: (1) presentation
or (2) poster/artwork session, but may not participate in more than
one session. Presentation sessions will be held concurrently, with
each presentation lasting 10 minutes. Poster/artwork sessions will
be held in the Exhibition Hall (Kirk Hall 123 and 124), with two
rotating sessions. Completed submission forms both for
presentations and posters/artwork must be submitted by the Faculty
Mentor no later than Tuesday, March 14th, by 5:00pm. No submissions
will be accepted after the March 14th deadline.
Faculty Mentors will receive confirmation of the acceptance of
their submissions and follow-up instructions shortly after the
