Strike a unique balance with interdisciplinary study in Mathematics and Education: Build a foundation in statistics, calculus, algebra and computer programming, and learn innovative methods to teach these subjects to middle and secondary school students, including special education, multicultural and at-risk populations.
Saint Leo's Mathematics program challenges you to think critically and abstractly, and teaches you to apply mathematical models to solve real-world problems. The minor in Education helps prepare students to teach mathematics at the secondary level. Graduates with Mathematics degrees work in a variety of industries, including finance, biotech, government, computer science and insurance. A bachelor’s degree in math is a useful stepping stone for graduate study in pure and applied mathematics, medicine, engineering and law. If you want to teach, many school districts and states will require a teaching certificate, which may require additional preparation.
