Minor - Art

University Campus

Art trains us how to see and interpret our world. With an Art minor, you’ll learn basics in painting and drawing techniques, art history and visual communication. Creative people ignite careers in design, business, computer science, medicine, theology, education and social science.

Professional development opportunities

  • Art in action: At Saint Leo, you're surrounded by opportunities to see visual art—whether you’re at the Tampa Museum of Art, the Ybor City Art Walk, St. Petersburg’s public art-lined streets, or one of the many galleries and studio spaces clustered in the Downtown Arts District in Orlando.
  • Co-curricular activities: Learn about layout and design as a contributor to Sandhill Review literary magazine and The Lions' Pride student newspaper.
  • Campus performances: How would you like to perform in or design the set for the next Saint Leo production? Theater courses are not part of the art minor, but creative opportunities abound outside the classroom for any student interested in getting involved. In the past we've done Alice Through the Looking Glass, Guys and Dolls, Once on This Island and Dirty Deeds at the Depot.
