Art reflects culture—our stories, paintings and artifacts tell us volumes about our beliefs and values throughout history.

As an Interdisciplinary Arts minor, you’ll make connections between the arts and other disciplines. Combine three designated art courses with a complementary focus of your choice—history, literature, philosophy or religion. You’ll work closely with an advisor to select and coordinate courses.

Professional development opportunities

• Art in action: At Saint Leo, you're surrounded by opportunities to experience art—whether at the Tampa Museum of Art, Ybor City Art Walk, St. Petersburg’s public art-lined streets, or one of the many galleries and studio spaces clustered in Orlando's Downtown Arts District.
• Campus performances: How would you like to perform in or work behind the scenes for the next Saint Leo production? In the past we've done Alice Through the Looking Glass, Guys and Dolls, Once on This Island and Dirty Deeds at the Depot.
• Internships: Intern at the Pioneer Museum, Holocaust Museum, National Park Service historical exhibits, or Catholic Charities.
• Co-curricular activities: Work with Sandhill Review literary magazine, The Lions' Pride student newspaper, SLU TV and SLU Radio.
• Guest lecturers: Meet luminaries such as U.S. Poet Laureate Philip Levine, poet and fiction-writer Valada Flewellyn, ESPN writer Pat Yasinskas and filmmaker Ralph Clemente.
