ETS Proficiency Profile

Taking the ETS Proficiency Profile is required for you as a first-time, first-year college student at Saint Leo University. You must take it before you arrive on campus.

Why Take the Proficiency Profile?

The ETS Proficiency Profile documents your skills entering the university. It is not used to place you in classes, and your scores are not used to compare you to other students.

You should not stress or study for this assessment.

How to Take the ETS Proficiency Profile

These directions are for you if you are beginning college for the first time, and you have received your Saint Leo student ID.

Completion of the Proficiency Profile is required of you as a first-year college student at Saint Leo University, preferably before you arrive on campus. You will be able to decide when to take it online—at a time and place that you choose. The deadline for completing the ETS Proficiency Profile for students entering in Fall term is Thursday, August 1, 2013 by 5 p.m.

  2. Have your Saint Leo ID in order to take this assessment. It will have 7 digits, and must start with zero or one: 0 _ _ _ _ _ _ or 1 _ _ _ _ _ _
  3. Take the ETS Proficiency test here: http://proficiencyprofile.ets.org

You will automatically be sent reminders throughout the summer to complete this assessment. Once you take the Proficiency Profile you will be removed from the reminder list, and we will no longer contact you asking you to take it.

Caution:

  • You must use the ETS link included here.
  • The exam is about academics only.
  • You do not have to pay for anything.
  • Please be careful to not get tricked into using any incorrect websites.
  • Saint Leo IDs are issued to students who place their deposits after being admitted. If you placed your deposit and if do not have your ID, please stop and contact your admissions counselor and get your ID.
