Methods of Payment
All students must pay their tuition and fees in full at the time of registration. The following payment methods may be used:

  1. Financial Aid Grants or Loans
    Financial aid grants or loans are administered by Saint Leo University.
  2. Third-Party Financial Assistance
    In order to receive credit for financial assistance from an outside third-party source, students should present written documentation at the time of registration of the award amount and the manner in which it is to be paid.
  3. Corporate Assistance
    Do you currently work full-time? Stop by your employer's benefits department to determine whether they offer tuition reimbursement or other learning incentives. You may also refer to our directory of Corporate Partnerships, and then call a Saint Leo University enrollment counselor to discuss our programs.
  4. Deferred Payment Plan
    Students may use the Saint Leo University deferred payment plan. Payment plan enrollment is available for the current semester only, and required for each semester. Students can enroll in the payment plan via their eLion account under Financial Information. All tuition and fees for the semester must be paid in full before registration for the next semester will be accepted. The deferred payment plan is subject to late fees.

Refunds
Refunds are available if you withdraw before 25% of the term/semester has been completed. The amount is calculated on a pro rata basis as defined by federal regulations. Please click here for more information on withdrawal and tuition refunds.

What is Financial Aid?
Financial aid is any form of assistance that helps to pay college education expenses. Scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment programs are all classified as financial aid. Saint Leo University students may be eligible for the following types of aid:

  • Grants: A form of need-based aid, distributed based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Grants do not have to be repaid.
  • Loans: A financial aid award that must be repaid with interest. Offered based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Scholarships: A form of merit-based aid that does not have to be repaid and is based on an eligibility factor outside of, or in addition to, financial need.

Alternate ways to finance your education include:

  • Veterans G.I. Bill
  • Payment plans
  • Alternative loans not sponsored by the federal government

Am I Eligible for Financial Aid?
Saint Leo University awards institutional, federal and various state financial aid to eligible students who are enrolled in a degree program and attending at least half-time.

Apply for Financial Aid
Getting the financial backing you need for your education starts here. Saint Leo University awards institutional, federal and various state financial aid to eligible students who are enrolled in a degree program and attending at least half-time. A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed annually to receive any of these awards. Click here to apply for financial aid with Saint Leo University.

Military & Veteran Benefits
The Department of Defense offers tuition assistance for voluntary, off-duty education programs that support service members' professional and personal development goals. Some branches of the armed services have specific policies on tuition assistance that differ from the general DOD policy. To verify your eligibility and assess resources available, contact your military education office.

You may receive additional detailed information of Veteran’s Education Benefits by visiting www.gibill.va.gov. In order to use your VA educational benefits at Saint Leo, you must:

  1. Apply online for VA Benefits.
  2. If you need to request a change of program or place of training, download and return this form.
  3. Officially apply to Saint Leo, and request all transcripts be sent to the center within the first two academic terms.

Saint Leo does not determine VA eligibility. Eligibility to receive education benefits is determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Once you have registered for classes, the Veterans Certifying Official at your Education Center will certify your enrollment.

Scholarships
Saint Leo is committed to helping you finance your future. You have a number of options available as you seek financial aid. Scholarships are ideal because it’s funding you don’t need to pay back.

Typically, scholarships are awarded based on academic and professional accomplishments, financial need, heritage, minority status, religious affiliations and other eligibility requirements.

Begin your scholarship search early, and be persistent. These directories are often updated on a regular basis, so check back frequently. When you've found scholarship opportunities that sound right for you, be thoughtful and thorough in your application materials.

Some state scholarship agencies allow out-of-state students to use state scholarship funds while attending Saint Leo University. Residents of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont should contact the state scholarship office for the appropriate application. Check with your state to see if you are eligible for state aid.
