Before the 1960s, Roman Catholic tradition never recognized religious
freedom as an objective right, and it included a theory about Catholicism deserving
preference by the State. These positions were seriously challenged when the Second
Vatican Council issued The Declaration on Religious Freedom on December 7, 1965.
Five Saint Leo University professors welcome all to a public panel discussion on this
document and related issues on October 31, 2015 at the Chesapeake Education Center.

Dr. Mo Mathews (Psychology); Dr. Ramona Taylor (Criminal Justice);
Dr. Pamela Lee (Business); Dr. James Cross (Theology); Dr. Marc Pugliese (Theology).

Dr. Michael McLaughlin (Theology)
