Community Service, Volunteer Projects
November 16, 2011
University
Campus and the Student Support Center located at the Tampa
Education Center observed Community Service Day on November 11.
Students, faculty, and staff were given opportunities to select
nonprofit sites in the community and offer their efforts for the
afternoon.
Tasks ranged from office duties to clean-ups to assistance with museum exhibits and historical records. Sites shown here include Morningstar Fishermen, a fish-farming and educational facility; Pioneer Florida Museum and Village; a local American Cancer Society office in Lutz, FL; and grounds at the Florida National Cemetery for veterans in Bushnell, FL.
Regional teaching locations schedule community service projects at various times of the year, in accordance with local community needs.
University Campus will again observe a Community Service Day during the spring 2012 semester on January 28, 2012. Contact the Center for Values, Service, and Leadership for more information.
