Remarkable Role Model

Congratulations to Gainesville (FL) student Antron McCullough. Not only did he graduate in December with a bachelor’s business administration degree, but his photo was featured during the most recent football season on cans and bottles of Diet Dr Pepper.

The soft drink maker awarded the Saint Leo student $23,000 in scholarship funds through a competition honoring both student commitment and athleticism. Antron’s account of growing up in foster care and making it to college in spite of the odds against him impressed the beverage company judges. The new graduate has already worked to advocate for other youth in the foster care system.
