Highly Decorated Commander to Speak at Ingleside Commencement 56 Seniors Set to Graduate

Cmdr. Steven Emory Morehead will speak to 56 graduates at the Saint Leo University Naval Station Ingleside Center commencement ceremony on Friday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at Naval Station Ingleside Center, Building 101, Ingleside, TX. Morehead has been serving as executive officer of Naval Station Ingleside, since October 2002.

Morehead’s decorations and awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Humanitarian Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master’s degree in oceanography and meteorology at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

The degree candidates have fulfilled the requirements for the following degrees: bachelor of arts in business administration, criminal justice, psychology, bachelor of science in computer information systems, master of business administration, and associate of arts in business administration and liberal arts.
