Important Form 1098-T Notes

All 1098-T forms will be mailed out to students on January 31, 2007.

Box 2 (Amounts Billed for Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses) of the form 1098-T, consists of tuition related activity on the student account during the period of January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006. This activity may include pre-registration charges for the Spring 2007 term.

The Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses reported on the 1098-T (Box 2) may be different from the Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses you may deduct. If the student’s Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses have been paid for by a third party, Box 2 of Form 1098-T reflects any Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses, less the third-party payments.

If you require a statement of activity on your account for tax purposes, please utilize your most recent billing statement, or you may log onto www.saintleo.edu and obtain this information through e-Lion.

If you are a student from our Center for Online Learning, you may e-mail your request for a statement to University Alliance at customerservice@saintleo.com. University Alliance will not dispense tax advice and we are unable to answer any questions that relate to determining your tax credit eligibility.
