Saint Leo University Veteran Student Services is partnering with Mud Endeavor to sponsor Mud Endeavor V on Saturday, October 4, at 29251 Wildlife Lane in Brooksville. The event begins with competitive runners at 9 a.m., and “waves” of participants continuing through 11 a.m.

Saint Leo runners will be charged $45 plus the processing fee of $4.05, which must be paid by credit or debit card. The discount is available only for pre-registration. Day-of-event registration is $79.95. Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate. Part of the proceeds from those who pre-register with the STLEOVETS code will benefit Saint Leo University Veteran Student Services and Military Education Excellence.

Saint Leo University has a strong and proud tradition of educating the men and women who serve our country. Military Education Excellence (formerly the Veteran Student Emergency Fund) was established to provide limited financial assistance to currently enrolled student-veterans facing unforeseen hardship that could directly negatively impact their educational status. The fund relies solely on donations received from alumni, faculty, staff, students, and the community.

In the spirit of Saint Leo’s core values of community and responsible stewardship, students who receive assistance are asked, but not required, to make a donation as they are able.

Mud Endeavor is Florida’s premier Obstacle Course Race. This unique Central Florida location provides extreme terrain with 100-foot elevation changes, bringing a whole new aspect to mud obstacle course racing. The entirely new course layout has access to lots of water, which means lots of mud, and shoes frequently become stuck in the unforgiving suction.

Brooksville is the birthplace of Mud Endeavor having launched its first mud run at this location in 2012. The property is an old dirt mine, and the spectator viewing area is outstanding with more that 75 percent of the course totally visible. Spectators can stand on the sidelines, observe the course, and cheer on their favorite runners while they test their limits on the challenging hill climbs, 100-foot water slides, and other demanding obstacles.
