New Faculty Join University as Academic Year Begins

Saint Leo University welcomes 15 new faculty members to the university this year. Appointments have been made to all three schools: The School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education and Social Services, and the Donald R. Tapia School of Business. Additionally, the Daniel A. Cannon Memorial Library welcomes a new faculty member.

ā€œIā€™m delighted these highly qualified faculty have joined us, eager to contribute to our ongoing commitment to academic quality at Saint Leo University,ā€ said Dr. Maribeth Durst, vice president of academic affairs.

The faculty members are joining Saint Leo at both University Campus and several education centers. Classes start the week of August 25 for the first fall semester.

The School of Arts and Sciences

Mr. Christopher Friend, instructor of English at University Campus.

Dr. Carletta Perry, assistant professor of psychology at South Hampton Roads Education Center in Virginia.

Dr. Christopher Wolfe, assistant professor of psychology at University Campus.

Daniel A. Cannon Memorial Library

Ms. Renee Gould, assistant professor and librarian.

Donald R. Tapia School of Business

Dr. Joseph Connors, assistant professor of economics at University Campus.

Mr. John Heather, visiting instructor of international tourism and hospitality management at University Campus.

Ms. Kelly Schuttig, instructor of management at University Campus.

Mr. Duane Stephens, instructor of management at University Campus and at the Virginia Peninsula Center.

Dr. James Womick, assistant professor of marketing at the Virginia Peninsula Center (Newport News) and South Hampton Roads Center (Chesapeake).

Dr. Darrien Bush, associate professor of criminal justice at the Morrow Education Center in Georgia (suburban Atlanta).

Mr. Richard Glaesser, instructor of social work at University Campus.

Dr. Gail Purdy, assistant professor of human services at the Ocala Education Center in Florida.
