Popular Student Festival Commences Friday

Spring Fling, one of the most popular and longest-running traditions on University Campus community, starts Friday, March 1.

The student-run festival begins with an ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, in Dempsey Plaza, outside the Student Community Center. Along with ice cream, students will also find Spring Fling  t-shirts to tie-dye at the plaza.

At 7 p.m., the softball team will be taking on Barry University, and the Student Government Union and Campus Activities Board will be at the University Softball Stadium to support the home team while providing plenty of giveaways.

On Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., a pool party is scheduled outside the Marion Bowman Activities Center with smoothies, novelties, music, and of course a host of inflatables. During the evening hours, the party will move to the “bowl” facing Lake Jovita from 6 to 10 p.m. with numerous carnival rides, games, and food trailers. Two musical groups will perform as well: ArtOfficial at 7 p.m. and Tall Heights at 8:30 p.m.
