Register for European Study-Tour
March 31, 2008
History Professor Marco Rimanelli will lead a
study-tour of Athens, Delphi, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi,
Florence, Rome and the Vatican in May 2008. The tour which is open
to students, alumni, faculty, and staff, includes an audience with
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. SLU students can register to earn
credit for the tour.
Dr. Rimanelli, a native of Rome and a dual citizen of the U.S. and
Italy, studied at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced
International Studies and is an expert on NATO and U.S.-European
relations. He has guided Saint Leo students on study-tours of
Europe each May for the past five years. "Everyone who has ever
taken this trip has loved it," Dr. Rimanelli says. "There are
guided tours during the day and the evenings are open to
explore."
Travelers will visit historic sites, museums, and other points of
interest, and dinner most days will include a topical presentation
by a distinguished guest lecturer. The $4000 registration fee
covers the cost of roundtrip airfare from Tampa, Florida, hotels,
trains, breakfast and dinner, museums, and tour guides. Spending
binges on Italian shoes, perfume and gelato are at the traveler's
expense!
