Second Show Added This Year for Christmas Program
November 21, 2013
The popular free holiday program, A Saint Leo Christmas, will be held on Tuesday, December 3, with two performances scheduled in the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms of the Student Community Center at University Campus. Visitors will find the campus entrance is just four miles east of Interstate 75 (Exit 285) at 33701 State Road 52, with ample parking is available in the garage.
A Saint Leo Christmas includes performances of holiday music by Saint Leo choral groups and the jazz ensemble, along with contributions from featured singers and instrumentalists. Poet and writing instructor Gianna Russo serves as the master of ceremonies and delivers readings of poetry and prose selections.
A 4 p.m. program with open seating (no tickets required) was added this year to accommodate strong community and campus interest in the program.
The evening performance is scheduled for 7 p.m., with tickets required for admission and seating. Community guests, faculty, and employees may call Amanda Wright at (352) 588-8602 to reserve the free tickets, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org with the words “Ticket reservations” in the subject line.
Following the evening program, all are invited to stay to witness the blessing of the University Campus manger and the lighting of the Christmas tree. The Saint Leo Praise Team will lead everyone in singing carols.
A Saint Leo Christmas is presented by the School of Arts and Sciences and the Department of English, Fine Arts, and Humanities.
Refreshments for the outdoor evening program are provided by Student Activities.
