Tampa Ceremony for Saint Leo's MacDill Class of 2011

Nearly 200 Saint Leo University students who studied at the
continuing education center at Tampa’s MacDill Air Force Base will
receive degrees Saturday, June 4.
The 11 a.m. commencement
ceremony is to be held in Tampa at the T. Pepin Hospitality Centre.
University President Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr., will welcome the
graduates and present them with their degrees.
The Class of 2011 includes students at both the graduate and
undergraduate level. Degrees to be awarded are: the Master of
Business Administration; the Master of Science in criminal justice;
the Master of Science in critical incident management; the Bachelor
of Arts; the Bachelor of Science; the Bachelor of Applied Science;
and the Associate of Arts.
The graduates and their families will be addressed by guest
speaker Gregory J. Celestan (pictured), chairman and chief
executive of Celestar Corp., a Tampa-based defense contractor. The
speaker retired from the U.S. Army in 2004 with the rank of
lieutenant colonel and is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy
at West Point, where he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in
engineering and Russian area studies. He also holds a Master of
Arts degree in international relations from the University of
Washington.
Student Brianne Foresman, who has earned the Bachelor of Arts
degree in psychology, has been selected to deliver the farewell
address on behalf of the graduating class.
In conjunction with the commencement ceremony, the Pepin
Hospitality Centre is hosting an exhibit of fine art photography by
undergraduate students of James Hughson, fine arts instructor at
University Campus. The exhibit, mainly black and white photography,
is in the Community Hall outside the Grand Ballroom of the
facility. The graduating students will see the photographs as they
enter the ballroom for the ceremony.
