University Appoints More Than a Dozen to Teaching Ranks

The Division of Academic Affairs has announced the addition of the following people to the Saint Leo University faculty, in preparation for the start of fall semester. New faculty are joining each of the university’s three schools, as listed below.

School of Arts and Sciences

Dr. Anne Barngrover is an assistant professor of English and creative writing, teaching at University Campus. She actually began work in July, during the summer residency for Saint Leo’s graduate creative writing program; it is Dr. Barngrover’s photo that appears next to the headline for this story on the home page. 

Dr. Kwasny

Dr. Keith W. Burton is an assistant professor of psychology and teaches online.

Dr. Robert B. Faux is an assistant professor of psychology and teaches at the Langley (VA) Education Office. (Dr. Faux was unfortunately not available for a photo.)

Dr. Karen Kwasny is an assistant professor of English at the South Hampton Roads Education Center in Virginia Beach, VA (pictured right).

School of Education and Social Services

Michelle AllenMichelle Allen, MS, is an instructor teaching criminal justice at the Marietta (GA) Education Center (pictured left).

Elisabeth Ballew, MEd, is an instructor of education at the Lake City (FL) Education Center.

Dr. Michelle Boone-Thornton is an assistant professor teaching human services at the Chespeake (VA) Education Office.

Christina Cazanave, MSW, is an instructor of social work at the Adult Education Center based at University Campus.

Joseph Cillo, JD, has converted to permanent status as an assistant professor of criminal justice, following a one-year teaching appointment during 2016-2017. He is at University Campus. 

Dr. Robert Lucio is an associate professor of social work at University Campus. He is also serving as the data manager of the Master of Social Work program.

Dr. Georgina Rivera-Singletary is an associate professor teaching in the graduate education program and is at University Campus.

Donald R. Tapia School of Business

Dr. Mubarak Banisakher is an associate professor of computer science teaching at the Tampa (FL) Education Center.

Dr. Charlene Gayle is assistant professor of accounting at the Marietta (GA) Education Center.

Dr. Lionel Thomas Jr. is an associate professor of international hospitality and tourism management at University Campus.

Raymond Yann, MBA, is an instructor of accounting at University Campus.
