3. I missed a term and need to restructure my financial aid package. What do I do?

If you miss a term and want your aid restructured for the current academic year:

If you decide to skip a term, all subsequent aid disbursements will stop and can not be used to reenroll until the aid has been restructured.

To have your aid restructured,

1. NEW: All students must be registered in the term in which they would like their financial aid restructured for. (This is for students who have already taken classes at SLU and have just skipped a term in the year).
2. Once registered on eLion students are to send an email to, finaid@saintleo.edu requesting the restructure of their aid. Please advise in this email what term you will be returning to SLU. The student will receive a response advising your email has been forwarded to an advisor for restructure. Once the restructure is complete, the student will receive another email advising of the changes made to their aid.
3. For example: A student is enrolled from Summer II through Spring I with aid covering all four terms. Student attends summer II and Fall I but does NOT enroll for Fall II. Financial aid disbursements for Fall II and Spring I are cancelled due to non-enrollment. Student decides to return for Spring I term. In order for the student to utilize the 2 terms of unused aid, they must first register for at least 1 class via eLion and then email the Financial Aid Office requesting the restructure of the unused aid.

If an email request is received prior to registration on eLion, the restructure will not be processed until the registration can be seen on our system.

4. Do I have to apply for financial aid every year?

Yes. Financial aid is a renewable process and a FAFSA must be completed each year to receive aid. The FAFSA for the new year is made available on the internet on January 1 at 12:01AM. We encourage students to re-apply early each year so they may be eligible for the limited grant funds available in the SEOG or FSAG(Florida residents only) grants. To re-apply for financial aid, go online to www.fafsa.ed.gov and use our school code, 001526.
