What is Green Dot?

Green Dot is a bystander intervention program that focuses on changing behaviors to promote culture change. This program aims to end three major forms of power-based personal violence – dating/domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Each instance where when an individual choses to use his/her words or actions to harm another individual is defined as a red dot

This program intends to equip community members with the tools to prevent or intervene in instances of violence. Therefore, a green dot is an instance when someone performs an act, speaks a word, or makes a choice that opposes the culture of power based personal violence. Little by little, the goal of Green Dot is to outnumber the red dots in our community and to effectively change the campus culture of Saint Leo University.
