What do I do during an emergency?

• Contact the Office of Safety at extension 8333
• Contact your Resident Assistant
• Remain calm
• Identify yourself and location
• Describe the emergency
• Security will provide instructions
• Remain on the phone

What services are available at the Health Center?

• Physician or Nurse Practitioner, Monday through Thursay 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.
• Physician, dentist and hospital information and referrals
• Assistance with physician/dental appointments
• Insurance information and assistance/billing
• Suture care and removal
• Prescription and over the counter medications
• First aid (band-aids, etc.)
• Wellness and disease counseling
• Allergy injections

What do I do if I am sick?

• Contact the Health Center at (352) 588-8347
• If you are sick or injured and it is after Health Center hours. Get care that is appropriate at either an Urgent Care or an Emergency Room.

What do I do if I am too ill to attend classes?

• Contact your professors by voice mail and/or e-mail and inform him or her of your inability to attend class.
• Contact the Health Center by voice mail and/or e-mail. You may be required to provide a Health Center note to return to class. (You will not receive a note unless you are seen by the Health Center staff)
