International Tourism Club

The International Tourism Club (ITC) is an official organization of the Student Government Union (SGU). Its purpose is to promote the professional and social development of students who have an interest in international hospitality and tourism and cultural activities.


  • Travel to, attend, and participate in tourism and hospitality meetings, conferences and trade shows;
  • Increase awareness within the university community of the scope and importance of hospitality and tourism as a worldwide industry;
  • Promote international hospitality and tourism as a multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional career field at university events;
  • Provide a forum for student extra-curricular interaction with IHT faculty, alumni, and hospitality and tourism industry professionals;
  • Provide a forum for IHT students to develop relations with businesses interested in providing students with internships, part-time employment, and career positions

ITC membership is open to all Saint Leo University students! Members are expected to support ITC activities and projects and the efforts of club officers and committee members to the best of their ability.

In addition to participating in SGU activities and volunteering at local festivals and events, the ITC commemorates the following annual events:

  • September 27, World Tourism Day - Proclaimed by the United Nations' World Tourism Organization. Promotes recognition of tourism as world's #1 industry.
  • April 22, Earth Day - Promotes preservation and conservation of natural resources. Promotes recognition of natural resources as critical asset for tourism.
